Sick Leave is one of your most valuable benefits at WCSD. Benefits-eligible employees earn sick leave at the rate of approximately X days for every calendar month worked and can accumulate a maximum of X days.
As you know, Sick Leave pays your full salary if you must be out sick. But accumulating Sick Leave can have other advantages now and in the future. Not only can accumulated Sick Leave lower the cost of you Disability Insurance, it can also mean money in your pocket when it's time to retire. For those that participate in TRS, portions of unused accrued Sick Leave may be rolled into TRS retirement plans. For those who participate in PSERS, under certain circumstances, employees may apply for payment through the Attendance Incentive Plan.
